About Me

Danielle Gray, LPC

(She/her/hers)

l am a licensed professional counselor located in Connecticut who specializes in providing compassionate and empathetic counseling services to individuals facing the challenges of infertility through teletherapy. With a background in psychology and extensive training in counseling, I offer a unique blend of eclectic, person-centered, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness-based therapy to support clients throughout their reproductive journey.

Drawing upon a client-centered approach, I place great importance on creating a safe and supportive space where clients can feel seen, heard, and validated. By incorporating mindfulness techniques, I help clients become more attuned to their emotions and thought patterns, and develop the tools to cope with the stress and anxiety that often arise in the face of infertility.

As a psychotherapist who has personally experienced the emotional journey of infertility, I bring a unique perspective to my practice. I understand the complex emotions that can accompany an infertility diagnosis, including feelings of grief, loss, and isolation. With warmth, empathy, and sensitivity, I help clients navigate the unique challenges of infertility, providing individualized support tailored to meet their specific needs and goals.

With over 12 years of experience in counseling, I have helped countless individuals find their way through life’s journey, fostering greater self-awareness, resilience, and empowerment along the way.

I am a self-pay practitioner, allowing treatment decisions to remain between us. Additional reasons to consider an out-of-network care provider are:

  • Avoiding the need for a mental health diagnosis, which remains on your medical record and is mandated by insurance companies for treatment purposes. This diagnosis determines the amount the insurance company will pay, the number of sessions allowed, and other care-related rules and limitations. These decisions are made by individuals who have no personal knowledge of you. Additionally, this policy requires a diagnosis even if the provider deems it unnecessary or if you don't fully meet the diagnostic criteria.

  • Minimizing the number of people who can access your mental health medical records by decreasing the time needed for insurance providers to approve appointments via prior authorizations.

Insurance

  • Providing transparency in billing by informing you upfront of the expected expenses, without any guesswork about coverage, co-pays, and deductibles. This eliminates any unexpected surprises.

  • Acknowledging high deductible plans, which can pose challenges in accessing affordable mental health care.

  • Empowering you with greater autonomy in determining the appropriate frequency of therapy sessions that aligns with your preferences and needs, without being dictated by insurance companies using irrelevant standards.

  • Enabling you to choose a therapist of your choice, rather than being limited by narrow provider networks and fewer healthcare options.

I recognize the significance of financial decisions in seeking healthcare services. To assist you, I can provide a superbill, which serves as the required documentation (similar to a receipt) for submitting reimbursement claims to your insurance provider for out-of-network services. However, please note that I cannot guarantee coverage for any portion of your treatment, as insurance plans differ in their coverage policies. It is advisable to contact your insurance company to ascertain the extent of coverage for your specific plan.

"Your present circumstances don't determine where you go; they merely determine where you start."

Payment and Fees

• My fees are $135 per clinical hour for ongoing sessions and $175 for each evaluation session (the first 1-2 sessions)

• Payment is due in full at the time of your therapy appointment

• Payments will be charged to the card on file (credit, FSA, HSA) unless you notify me of another form of payment

• I do offer sliding scale fees based on a client's ability to pay, which are determined on a case-by-case basis in order to increase financial accessibility to mental healthcare
